Varanus salvator ssp. " sulfur "

This form of water monitor is certainly the rarest in captivity, and also in the wild. This is due to the fact that this form is only found in a very small area, keeping secret by local trappers to preserve the monitors of an over-collecting process. Even scientists don't know the exact location of them. In fact, more than another subspecies of the water monitor, this ssp. Appear to be a phase, the xanthic phase (excess of yellow). Some American breeders have recently crossed the sulphur phase with normal water monitors. By crossing them together, or with the parents in a few years, we will have the proof -or not- that the sulphur phase is a simple recessive phase. In our breeding, we keep 2 specimens of this wonderfull species, presumed to be a pair. They won't breed before a few years.
